"Empty promises" Pete Wilson

The best thing about "Empty promises" by pastor Pete Wilson is its honesty. Kinda un-American-like in terms of the depth of the personal report on how the author has been dealing with the idols in his life.

We are all prone to falling for something glittery like the lure of power, approval, sex, money or even religion. And sometimes the best way to remind us that it can happen to any of us is to hear about it from someone so many people look up to.

While the book content was not new to me by any stretch, I liked the conversational form and -first and foremost- its down-to-earth honesty. Good read!

The book was provided to me as part of the Booksneeze program.
